Bella made her first trip to the Indianapolis Zoo on Saturday! We met the Elser Familia (sans Matt, but plus Grandma Baumgarn) there and Bella really enjoyed seeing her friends again. The weather was just about perfect, not too hot and not too cold.
We started off in the Oceans exhibit, which was cool. It has been revamped since Anthony and I last visited and the improvements are awesome. There is a jellyfish exhibit that is beautiful and a shark touch pool. We didn't get to touch any sharks this time, but we have all summer to accomplish that goal! We followed up the sharks exhibit with the dolphin show, and Bella couldn't take her eyes off them.
The animals that elicited the biggest response from the 'boo were the rhinos, giraffes, elephants, and the pony. When we passed the pony, Bella said, "I want to ride it!" We'll have to check those height requirements during our next trip.
At the close of our trip, we bought Bella a dolphin toy (complete with Indianapolis Zoo hoodie) to commemorate her first trip. We named it Nova (after one of the dolphins in the show). She has slept with it the last two nights!
We didn't get any pictures this time, but we will post some soon! We're gearing up for the Memorial Day weekend and I'm sure we'll get some good shots then.
